CSU Transfer

Transfer to a CSU

The California State University system includes 23 campuses and many transfer options. Foothill also offers Associate Degrees for Transfer that can support a CSU pathway.

What You’ll Find Here

This page can help students:

  • Explore CSU campuses and majors

  • Learn about ADT pathways

  • Find important application dates

  • Start a Cal State Apply account

  • Get help with the application process

  • Find scholarships and campus resources

Foothill offers Associate Degrees for Transfer that provide a strong pathway to the CSU system. Students should meet with a counselor to confirm the right ADT, campus, and major based on their goals.
Use CSU campus and degree search tools to compare campuses, majors, and admission options. Start by identifying your major and checking whether your preferred campus accepts transfer students for that program.

Spring 2026 transfer application period:
Aug. 1–31, 2025

Fall 2026 transfer application period:
Oct. 1–Dec. 1, 2025

Not all CSU campuses accept applications every term, and some deadlines may be extended for selected majors or campuses.

Students applying to a CSU should use Cal State Apply. When searching for transfer options, select Upper Division Transfer and confirm the correct term. Students who are veterans or international students should review any additional application instructions.

The Transfer Center can help students understand CSU requirements, review transfer plans, and prepare their application. Students are encouraged to meet with a counselor before they apply.

Each CSU campus may offer its own scholarships, transfer support services, and major-specific resources. Review the campus website and speak with a counselor for guidance.
