AB 1705: Your Fast Track to Graduation Begins Here
What Is AB 1705?
AB 1705 is a California law that helps community college students — like you — start directly in transfer-level Math and English courses. These are the classes that count toward your degree or transfer goals.
How does this help you?
- 🎓 Graduate Sooner: Finish your degree or transfer faster.
- 💰 Save Money: No need to pay for extra, non-credit courses.
- 🤝 Get Support: Receive personalized support.
Why AB 1705 is a Game-Changer For You
- 📈 Higher Success Rates: Students who start in transfer-level courses are up to five times more likely to complete them successfully.
- 📊 Transfer-Level Math Solutions:
Students who begin directly in transfer-level math—even with extra support—are far more likely to succeed. In fact, nearly **4 in 10 students pass transfer-level math** when they start there with support, compared to just **8%** who start in remedial math.
Choosing the right starting point can make all the difference.
- 🎓 Easier Transfers: More students are meeting university transfer requirements faster thanks to increased access and completion of transfer-level Math and English under AB 1705.
- 💡 Personalized Support: With AB 1705, you're not left to figure things out alone. You’ll get targeted support
like access to tutoring and imbedded support from instructors for help.
