Associate Degree for Transfer
Choose a Degree for Transfer
Foothill College offers 30 associate degrees for transfer
Both types of ADTs – Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) and Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T ) – are intended for students who plan to transfer and complete a bachelor’s degree in a similar major at a CSU campus.
Note: Students completing these degrees are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, but not to a particular campus or major.

Transferring to a CSU with a similar major
ADTs are intended for students who plan to transfer and complete a bachelor’s degree in a similar major at a CSU campus.
For example, an ADT in English may be able to help you gain admission in majors other than English. It could prepare you for some of the following majors, depending upon the CSU campus: American Studies, Creative Writing, Rhetoric, Literature and Ethnicity, Nationality and Sexuality.
The majors for which an ADT is accepted is available on the I Can Go to College website.
For clarification about what is considered a "similar degree," see Frequently Asked Questions about ADTs.
Is the ADT right for you?
The ADT degree may not be the best option for you if you intend to transfer to a particular CSU campus or to university or college that is not part of the CSU system.
You should meet with a counselor for more information on university admission and transfer requirements when planning to complete the degree.
This program also guarantees that you will graduate in 60 semester units after transfer as long as you remain in the major deemed similar to your Associate Degree for Transfer.
