Meet Our Wellness Ambassadors 2023-2024
Ana Sofia Aldrett
My name is Sofia and I´m a second-year student majoring in Chemical Engineering. I plan on working in an environmental-related field since that is my passion. My goal as a Wellness Ambassador is to encourage students to ask for help when they need it and spread awareness that it is okay to do so. I hope to help build a stronger community for students to feel welcomed and supported. I hope to gain more knowledge about mental health and spread the knowledge I already have as an ambassador, but also to be a resource for other students that want help. In my free time, I like to exercise, go on walks, read, meet new people, and travel.
Hello! My name is Murtaza, and I am a first-year student here at Foothill College majoring in Psychology. I plan on working in the medical field in the future, with a possible focus on psychology. While this is my first year as a full-time student here, I spent a lot of time on campus the last two years taking college classes during high school, so I am familiar with a lot of the Foothill community. I enjoy traveling and hanging out with friends in my spare time. My goal as a Wellness Ambassador is to help the members of the Foothill community feel welcome and safe when discussing mental health-related topics. I also want to ensure that Foothill students are aware of habits and actions that can help to reduce stress if they ever need them.
Hello! I am a second-year sociology major. In my free time I like driving around San Jose and eating at the latest food spots, I also love listening to music and browsing social media. My goal for the future is to become a social worker or a marketing manager. My goal as a Wellness Ambassador is to build a comfortable community where people are more open to share their feelings and how their mental health is. I want to encourage others to be able to reach out for help if they’re ever going through troubling times. As someone who has had mental health issues in the past and was able to push through them, I’d like to share my knowledge among others on ways to cope or give self-care tips if reaching out isn’t an option. I hope to be able to reach out to as many people as possible and learn along the way.
Hi everyone! This is Ye Thi but I go by Michelle too so it's easier and less hassle. I am a third-year student here at Foothill majoring in Public Health Science and doing my prerequisites for Dental Hygiene Program. As an international student, I know how crucial an individual's wellbeing is, especially when we all are away from home. When I first moved here two years ago, I was welcomed with heaps of love and warmth from my peers and professors here at Foothill and I really want to spread this love and kindness as a wellness student ambassador. I enjoy exploring new places, eating out, doing Pilates and going to music festivals in my free time.
