In order to get a degree from Foothill College or any univeristy, you will need to declare a major. A college major is a concentrated area of study intented to help you acquire specialized knowledge about a particular subject.

Degree Works is an online tool that makes it easy to build your educational plan and check your progress—by reviewing the coursework you've completed and comparing against the requirements for your desired degree or certificate.

Our Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) Pathway is designed to support you in completing both your major preparation and general education requirements at a California community college. By following this pathway, you can secure a guaranteed spot at participating four-year universities.

General Education (GE) requirements provide the foundation of your college experience at Foothill College. GE courses help you build critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills while preparing you for graduation or transfer. Learn about GE patterns, including Cal-GETC, and understand which requirements apply to your academic goals.
