Rights of Pregnant, Parenting Students & Employees
Foothill-De Anza protects the rights of pregnant and parenting students and employees, including pregnancy, childbirth, and lactation accommodations, as required under Title IX and California law.
- No discrimination based on pregnancy, childbirth, miscarriage, termination, lactation, IVF, or related conditions.
- Medically necessary absences are excused with the opportunity to make up work.
- Reasonable adjustments: breaks, seating, elevator access, larger desks, parking accommodations, etc.
- Private, non-bathroom lactation space and reasonable break time for pumping.
- No retaliation for requesting help or filing a report.
- If you are a student with dependent children attending Foothill, we have extensive resources for you.
