Auditions

Sister Act is the feel-good musical comedy smash based on the hit 1992 film that has audiences jumping to their feet! With original music by Tony and Oscar winner Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors), this uplifting musical hits the stage with the force of a disco ball struck by divine inspiration.  When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won't be a found: a convent!  Deloris soon transforms the choir into a gospel powerhouse with just the right amount of sparkling sass.  Combined with fabulous dancing and a story that delivers laughter and heart, Sister Act will leave audiences beaming. The cast is full of amazing roles in this high energy story about friendship, love, and stepping into your own power, Sister Act is reason to REJOICE!

All roles are open.  We are casting actors 18yrs+ to create a diverse and inclusive group of spellers and adults.

To Audition: Please provide the following information:

1. Please submit headshot and resume to careymilissa@fhda.edu.

2. Please list ALL Role(s) auditioning for: 

   • Will you accept any role if cast?

   • All Roles will have understudies cast from the ensemble.  Please let us know if you would be interested in being considered for ensemble/ understudy tracks.

3. Please list audition availability on the following days:

• • Sept. 15, 6 –9 p.m.
  • Sept. 16, 6 –9 p.m.
  • Sept. 19, 12 –5 p.m.

 Callbacks: Sept. 20, Sept. 22 –24

Please prepare a song in the style of the show and be prepared to read from the script. Bring sheet music in your preferred key; an accompanist will be provided.

If you're unable to attend the auditions in person, we also accept online video audition submissions.

Please note that some roles may be cast based on the initial auditions.

Dates: Feb. 25 – Mar. 14, 2027,

Wed–Sat at 7:30 p.m; Sun at 2 p.m. 

Location: Lohman Theatre

Music rehearsals begin Jan. 5, 2027

Rehearsal schedule: Three weekday evenings, plus Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Technical rehearsals: Expanded schedule during the production's technical rehearsal period.
