Resources for Parents
Welcome! Can we point you in the right direction?
We do not have a Child Development Center at Foothill College, but we'd like to share some resources to help you locate one for your child.
As a department, we benefit from great partnerships with quality early childhood programs in our area, we invite you to check out some of them, using the resources below.
A Note for Child Development StudentsChild Development students don't worry, you'll get the benefit of seeing many philosophies and quality practices in action in our program partners. You also can benefit from using DeAnza's Child Development Center for your own child's care. |
Finding an Early Childhood Program for Your Child
In the field of child development, we rely on the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) as our guiding professional association.
They offer an accreditation process for early childhood programs. We invite you to find one near us (or your home) by using their search tool.
Note: Just because a program is not accredited, it does not mean it isn't of quality! The accreditation process is lengthy, time-consuming, and expensive, which makes it difficult for small programs in particular to pursue. |
