Phase I of a state-mandated initiative — aimed at simplifying student transfer and ensuring uniformity in course numbers across California Community Colleges — is underway for Fall 2025. This impacts six Foothill courses plus their honors course version. View the six courses listed here.

Description: Mathematics-physics interrelationships, classical Newtonian mechanics.
Prerequisite:
Corequisite: Completion of or concurrent enrollment in MATH 1B or 1BH.
Advisory: Advisory: Students who have not taken physics in high school are strongly encouraged to take either PHYS 2A or 6 prior.
Repeatability: Not Repeatable.
Hours: 5 hours lecture per week, 3 hours lab per week. 96 hours total per quarter.
