Course Registration Dates Based on Priority Enrollment

Priority registration is set up for first-time college students with a goal of obtaining their first degree or certificate. If you've previously attended college or a university and/or received a degree, you will not be able to receive priority higher than Group 6.

In accordance with state and local regulations, students are assigned registration dates in the order listed below. You may register beginning on your assigned date and continue through the day before classes begin.

Group 1 - Veterans, Foster Youth, DSS, EOPS, CalWorks, Student Parents, and Rising Scholars Feb. 16, 2027 – Apr. 4, 2027
Group 2 - Athletes, CL Student Leaders & MESA  Feb. 17, 2027 – Apr. 4, 2027
Group 3 - Continuing students Feb. 18, 2027 – Apr. 4, 2027
Group 4 - New, fully matriculated college students  Feb. 22, 2027 – Apr. 4, 2027
Group 5 - New, non-matriculated college students  Feb. 23, 2027 – Apr. 4, 2027
Group 6 - Transfer students (from any other college) and returning students (who have completed one term at Foothill College)  Feb. 24, 2027 – Apr. 4, 2027
Group 7 - All other college students, including continuing students Feb. 25 & 26, 2027 – Apr. 4, 2027
Group 8 - Dually-enrolled high school students  Mar. 1, 2027 – Apr. 4, 2027

Definitions & Criteria for Student Groups 

New students must complete all matriculation steps to receive priority registration for next quarter.

Continuing students must have enrolled during the previous quarter to qualify for the best registration date.

Veterans, Foster Youth, DSS, EOPS, CalWorks, Student Parents, and Rising Scholars  who have completed orientation, assessment, and an educational plan; have selected an educational goal of transfer, degree, or certificate; and have declared an academic major. *Exceptions apply*

Athletes, CL and MESA Students who have selected an educational goal of transfer, degree, or certificate; have declared an academic major; and have an updated education plan.  
Continuing students who have selected an educational goal of transfer, degree, or certificate; updated education plan; and have declared an academic major. 
New, fully matriculated college students who have completed orientation, assessment, and an educational plan; selected an educational goal of transfer, degree, or certificate; and declared an academic major.
New, non-matriculated college students who have selected an educational goal of transfer, degree, or certificate and declared an academic major BUT have not completed assessment, orientation, or an educational plan.
Transfer students (from any other college) and returning students (who have completed one term at Foothill College) who have selected an educational goal of transfer, degree, or certificate and declared an academic major.
All other college students, including continuing students, who have not declared a major or who have not selected an educational goal of transfer, degree, or certificate; who have completed more than 100 degree-applicable units; who hold a degree; and/or had two terms on academic probation. 
Dually-enrolled high school students who are freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors or meet other criteria to attend Foothill College.

Paying Your Fees

Please Remember: Payment in full is required at the time of registration and when adding subsequent classes. You may enroll in an installment payment plan via your MyPortal account.

Dates TBA: Drop for nonpayment on cumulative fee balances of $250 or more will occur by end of day.
