Fall 2018 Dates & Deadlines
Apply & Register for Fall Quarter
Apply for admission if you are a new student to Foothill College or a returning former student. Fall classes begin Sept. 24.
Last day for international students to apply for Fall is June 30, 2018.
Course Registration Dates Based on Priority Enrollment
NEW STUDENTS: All steps must have been completed to receive priority registration for Fall Quarter.
CONTINUING STUDENTS: You must have enrolled during Spring Quarter to qualify for the best date for Fall Quarter.
In accordance with new state and local regulations, students will be assigned registration dates in the following order.
|Register from your start date through Sept. 23. Fall classes start Sept. 24.
|July 11 : Veterans, Foster Youth, DSPS, EOPS and CalWorks students who have completed orientation, assessment and an educational plan; have selected an educational goal of transfer, degree or certificate; and have declared an academic major.|
|July 12 : Continuing students and Athletes who have selected an educational goal of transfer, degree or certificate; and have declared an academic major.|
|July 16: New, fully matriculated college students who have completed orientation, assessment and an educational plan; selected an educational goal of transfer, degree or certificate; and declared an academic major.|
|July 16 : New, non-matriculated college students who have selected an educational goal of transfer, degree or certificate; and declared an academic major BUT have not completed assessment, orientation or an educational plan.|
|July 17 : Transfer students (from any other college) and returning students (who have completed one term at Foothill College) who have selected an educational goal of transfer, degree or certificate; and declared an academic major.|
|July 18 : All other college students, including continuing students who have not declared a major or who have not selected an educational goal of transfer, degree or certificate|
|July 23 : Dually-enrolled high school students who are freshman, sophomores, juniors or seniors or meet other criteria to attend Foothill College.|
Paying Your Fees
Drop for nonpayment on cumulative fee balances of $100 or more will occur on dates listed: TBD
Adding Classes After the Quarter Begins
- You can add a class with an instructor's add code/permission during the first two weeks of the quarter only.
- When you add classes, you must pay all fees at the time of registration.
- You will not be permitted to submit add codes after the end of the second week. Plan accordingly.
Important Dates and Add/Drop Deadlines
- Note: Deadlines listed below are for standard 12-week classes.
- Please View Your Class Schedule inside MyPortal for add/drop deadlines for your non-standard length classes.
- All deadlines are enforced.
|Monday, Sept. 24: First day of Fall Quarter 2018|
|Friday, Oct. 5: Last day to add 12-week, quarter-length classes. Add date is enforced.|
|Sunday, Oct. 7: Last day to drop for a full refund or credit (for 12-weeks, quarter-length classes). Last day to drop for a refund/credit for all other classes is listed inside MyPortal, on the Students Tab under 'View Your Class Schedule. Drop date is enforced.|
|Sunday, Oct. 7: Last day to drop 12-week, quarter-length classes with no record of grade. Drop date is enforced.|
|Friday, Oct. 19: Last day to request pass/no pass grade. Request date is enforced. You may complete the form online before the term begins. Once the term begins, you must submit the completed form to the Admissions & Records Office. Download the print form option.|
|Monday, Nov. 12: Veterans Day (classes will be held on Nov. 10)|
|Friday, Nov. 16: Last day to drop with a "W." Withdraw date is enforced.|
|Thursday - Sunday, Nov. 22 - 25: Thanksgiving Holiday Recess (no classes)|
|Friday, Nov. 30: Deadline to petition for Fall Quarter degree or graduation.|
|Monday-Friday, Dec. 10 - 14: Final exams|
|Friday, Dec. 14: Last day of Fall 2018 Quarter|
|Monday, Jan. 7: First day of Winter 2019 Quarter|
