VTA SmartPass Fee Election 2017
Your Vote Counts
|
VTA is increasing the cost of the SmartPass Program effective winter 2018. ASFC will hold a general student election on Nov. 6–9 to decide whether to keep the Smart Pass program at Foothill College with a fee increase.
VTA change the program name from EcoPass to SmartPass in 2018. |
Established through a student vote in spring 2011, the ASFC VTA SmartPass provides all Foothill students unlimited rides on Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) buses and light rail within Santa Clara County for the duration of a quarter term through a small mandatory fee.
- The increased SmartPass student fee will take effect for winter 2018 registration if approved.
- See the current and proposed mandatory fee levels for the Eco Pass based on number of units enrolled in per quarter.
Current and Proposed Fee Comparison
| Units Per Quarter | Current Fee Per Quarter | Proposed Fee Per Quarter |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 – 5.9 units | $3 | $5.75 |
| 6 – 11.9 units | $4 | $6.75 |
| 12 or more units | $5 | $7.75 |
Also compare the cost for the quarterly SmartPass fee for Foothill students to the cost of purchasing a monthly transit pass directly from VTA for $80 (effective January 2018).
