If you’re planning to transfer to a California State University, this page gives you the tools you need to understand how your Foothill courses apply toward CSU degree requirements. Here, you can learn about CSU-transferable courses, general education pathways, major preparation, and where to find official articulation agreements.

CSU General Education (CSU GE)

You can explore CSU GE criteria and see which Foothill courses meet the GE Breadth pattern. The CSU GE list is updated every year, and it’s important to check the effective and end dates for each course. Summer 2025 is the final term CSU GE Breadth will be offered.

California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC)

Beginning Fall 2025, Cal-GETC becomes the single lower-division general education pattern for CSU and UC transfer. You can use Cal-GETC to plan your GE requirements more consistently across both systems.

Associate Degrees for Transfer to the CSU

Foothill College’s Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) provides a guaranteed pathway for students to transfer into the California State University (CSU) system with junior standing. Students can choose between Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T) and Associate of Science for Transfer (AS-T) degrees. Foothill offers 30 ADTs, with 22 fully online. New students will receive a sample education plan in MyPortal, and counselors will work with them to create a customized plan aligned with their transfer goals.
