Here, you can learn about CSU-transferable courses, general education pathways, major preparation, and where to find official articulation agreements.

CSU Transferable CoursesYou can review Foothill’s full list of baccalaureate-level, CSU-transferable courses on ASSIST. These courses transfer at least as electives, though not all will meet GE or major requirements. At Foothill, all approved courses numbered 99 or below are CSU transferable. |
CSU General Education (CSU GE)
ou can explore CSU GE criteria and see which Foothill courses meet the GE Breadth pattern. The CSU GE list is updated every year, and it’s important to check the effective and end dates for each course. Summer 2025 is the final term CSU GE Breadth will be offered.
CSU IGETCYou can also follow the IGETC pattern if you’re preparing for CSU transfer. Foothill’s approved IGETC courses are updated annually on ASSIST. Like CSU GE, be sure to check the dates for each approved course. Summer 2025 is the last term CSU GE Breadth will be offered as all systems transition to Cal-GETC.

Beginning Fall 2025, Cal-GETC becomes the single lower-division general education pattern for CSU and UC transfer. You can use Cal-GETC to plan your GE requirements more consistently across both systems.

Associate Degrees for Transfer to the CSU
Foothill College’s Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) provides a guaranteed pathway for students to transfer into the California State University (CSU) system with junior standing. Students can choose between Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T) and Associate of Science for Transfer (AS-T) degrees. Foothill offers 30 ADTs, with 22 fully online. New students will receive a sample education plan in MyPortal, and counselors will work with them to create a customized plan aligned with their transfer goals.
