PHYSICAL PRINCIPLES OF DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY I

- Description: The course includes physical principles of diagnostic ultrasound, wave characteristics, sound parameters, and review of mathematical skills. In addition, the course emphasizes topics including Doppler, sound beam characteristics, display modes, transducers, and patient-centered equipment settings. Intended for students in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program; enrollment is limited to students accepted in the program.

DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY II

- Description: Second in the series of anatomy and physiology courses related to abdominal organs, with a focus on kidney, spleen, and small parts. Includes the thyroid, breast, and scrotum. A continuation of DMS 53A and the study of normal anatomy and pathological findings. Intended for students in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program; enrollment is limited to students accepted in the program.

Includes anatomy and physiology related to the nongravid pelvis and first trimester obstetrics with an emphasis on the clinical presentation of the nongravid and gravid female patient.
