Canvas Certification

The Online Teaching with Canvas course is designed for Foothill College faculty to learn how to create and run Canvas courses intended for online instruction. Participation in this course is required for teaching online courses.

This course is NOT intended for students or teachers outside of Foothill College.

Topics Include

• Intrduction to Canvas
• Organizing your course
• Communicating with students
• Assessing student work
• Managing the Gradebook

After you register for Online Teaching with Canvas you will be given access to Canvas where you will be enrolled in two courses.

You will also be assigned a faculty cooridinator and instructional designer from Online Learning who will be your mentors to work with you throughout the course and during your first quarter of teaching.

Upon successful completion of Online Teaching with Canvas you will:

• receive a certificate of completion and
• receive a badge upon completion of your first quarter teaching.
