History

About the Program

History majors are well prepared to work in law, politics, government work, sociology and many other careers. Studying past events helps inform our present. It also teaches you to think critically, analyze complex information and write clearly.

Career Opportunities

A major in history is an excellent preparation if you wish to enter the legal profession, politics, government service, sociology, travel careers, international trade, library science, elementary and secondary teaching.

Today's students require a global comprehension for careers and professions, as well as a fundamental understanding and appreciation of the multi-cultural aspects of the modern world that was shaped by the past. Enhancement with anthropology, geography, and political science courses is strongly urged.
