ASFC Student Trustee Information
Student Trustee Responsibilities

Each college in the Foothill-De Anza Community College District elects one student
trustee in addition to the five elected trustees.

Student trustees are chosen by the students of each college following procedures set
by the Board.

The term of office is one year, beginning June 1.

Student trustees sit with the elected trustees at all public board meetings.

They are recognized as full members for questioning witnesses, discussing issues,
and making or seconding motions.

Student trustees may cast an advisory vote, which is recorded before the Board’s official
vote.

They receive all materials given to elected trustees, except items discussed in closed
session.
