Denise Bryant is a multidisciplinary designer, educator, and former business owner with more than 30 years of professional experience spanning landscape, graphic, interior, and furniture design, horticulture, marketing, and creative leadership. Throughout her career, Denise has worked across an unusually broad range of design disciplines and scales—from branding, illustration, marketing campaigns, and visual communication to residential and commercial interiors, landscapes, custom furniture, and hands-on construction. Her professional roles have included Creative Director, Senior Marketing Coordinator, Lead Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Carpenter, and Designer, giving her a perspective shaped by both creative practice and the practical realities of bringing ideas from concept through execution. For more than two decades, Denise owned and operated her own design studio, managing clients, projects, creative direction, and the business of design. Her work has required her to move fluidly between aesthetics and function, creative vision and client needs, strategic thinking and hands-on problem solving. Whether developing a visual identity, planning a landscape, designing an interior, or building a piece of furniture, she approaches design as a combination of communication, problem-solving, craftsmanship, and purpose. Her experience in graphic design and marketing established a strong foundation in visual communication and led to increasingly senior creative and leadership positions. At the same time, her work in interior, landscape, furniture design, and carpentry expanded that foundation into the physical environment, developing an understanding of scale, materials, construction, sustainability, ergonomics, and the relationship between people and place. Denise now brings that depth of professional experience into the classroom at Foothill College, where she teaches landscape design and horticulture. Her teaching is grounded in real-world practice and emphasizes the connection between what students learn in the classroom and what they will encounter as working professionals. She encourages students to think critically, communicate clearly, understand why design decisions are made, and develop the practical skills and confidence necessary to turn ideas into thoughtful, buildable solutions. After more than three decades in design, Denise continues to explore new tools, technologies, and creative disciplines. Her career reflects a lifelong belief that design is not limited to a single medium or profession—it is a way of seeing problems, imagining possibilities, and creating meaningful solutions.
