Q: Is medical insurance needed to use Foothill’s Health Center?
No, services are available to all enrolled students who pay the health fee.
Q. Do I need health Insurance?
You do not need health insurance to use the Health Center, but we highly recommend you get insurance. The nurse practitioner will refer you to the appropriate medical provider, as needed, within your insurance network. If you do not have medical insurance, the Health Center staff can assist you in finding student health insurance or provide you with low cost community resources. The Health Center will work with you and your medical provider to treat minor illnesses and injuries, but will refer you out for chronic and complex conditions. Q. What do I do if I don't have health insurance?
Students are encouraged to use the Student Health Center if they do not have medical insurance. The nurse practitioner can act as your temporary provider until he/she refers you to specialist in the community for low cost service.
