STEM Center 2020 Fall Hours:
September 21st, Monday -December 5th, Saturday:
- Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri: 12noon-8pm (Biology, Chemistry, CS, Math, Physics)
- Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri: 8pm - 12midnight (CS only)
- Sat: 12noon-4pm (Biology, Chemistry, CS, Math, Physics)
- Sun: 12noon - 12midnight (CS only)
There is no STEM Center tutoring during Finals Week. The STEM Center last day of tutoring for 2020/Fall will be on December 5th of 2020 (Saturday) at 4pm.
The STEM Center is divided into 8 areas of study, referred to as "Labs."
You will find Foothill College faculty ready to help you understand the concepts you are studying. Be sure to strike up a conversation with your instructor! Many are here after full careers in industry and have valuable experience to share.
STEM center labs at Foothill College are temporarily closed.

Biology Lab
ONLINE TUTORING
Biology tutors are available to help you master content from your Human Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, and other related Biology courses.
HOURS
- Monday - Friday: 12 noon - 8 pm
- Saturday: 12 noon - 4 pm
EQUIPMENT - Room 4206 -- Available only when onsite.
The Biology Equipment room features a human skeleton model, human muscle models, and a microscope to view various tissue slides.
You can request access to the Biology Equipment room when we return on campus.
Business Lab (Accounting and Economics)
During open hours, experienced instructors are available to help you with concepts in any of your accounting and economics courses.
HOURS
- Monday - Wednesday: 12 noon - 4 pm
- Trursday: 12 noon - 2 pm
- Friday: 12 noon - 4 pm
Computer Science Lab
ONLINE TUTORING
Instructors are here to help you better understand general computer science concepts.
Tutoring help includes topics in computer architecture, programming, languages, databases, Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), and debugging tools. Instructors will also help you find useful online resources.
Specific languages include C++, Java, JavaScript and Python.

- Monday - Thursday : 12 noon - 12 midnight
- Friday: 12 noon - 8 pm
- Saturday: 12 noon - 4 pm
- Sunday: 12 noon - 12 midnight

Foundations Lab
ONLINE TUTORING
The Foundations Lab provides help for students in the introductory Math and Chemistry courses listed below:
MATH-217, MATH-180, MATH-105, MATH-48A, MATH-48B, MATH-48C, MATH-10, CHEM-30A, CHEM-30B, CHEM-25.
You’ll find computers and software in this lab, as well as dedicated Instructors who are patient and happy to help you.
Foundations Lab will re-open: TBA.
Main Lab
ONLINE TUTORING
The STEM Center Main Lab is a friendly online space for students to get help with astronomy, mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, and biology.
- Need some help with a vexing problem? Our instructors are scheduled throughout the day to help you one-on-one, and we can also schedule time to help your study group on a weekly basis.

The Garden Learning Community
A friendly, welcoming Learning Community: The Garden is specifically designed with the student’s learning style in mind, and focuses on specialized tutoring for all learning styles and tempos to provide an experience that will inspire students to return.

The Village (Puente/Umoja) - Tutoring
The collaborative initiative between Puente and Umoja is collectively known as The Village. STEM Center supports The Village by providing STEM faculty tutors on The Village location. This is an effort to identify how the STEM Center can best support The Village. For the Spring quarter, our Faculty Tutors (Both those assigned to The Village, as well as the rest of the STEM Center Tutors during open hours) are available for online tutoring,
About the Puente Program:
The mission of the Puente Project is to increase the number of educationally underserved students who enroll in four-year colleges and universities, earn degrees, and return to the community as leaders and mentors to future generations. Puente is open to all interested students.
About the Umoja Program:
Umoja, a Kiswahili word meaning unity, is a year-long learning community dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of African American and other students.
We actively serve and promote student success through a curriculum focused on the legacy of the African and African American diasporas.
