Honors Research Opportunities
Honors Research Symposium

The annual Honors Research Symposium, organized by the Bay Honors Consortium, gives students the opportunity to participate in scholarly research in a variety of disciplines, with the goal of presenting their findings in a variety of formats.
Thirteen proposals and 18 students from Foothill College were selected this year to present at the symposium on May 4, 2019 at Stanford University.
Two Foothill presenters, Gabrael Levine and Liza Mamedov-Turchinsky, received honorable mention awards. They were among the top five honored from an overall 90 presentations for consideration for the Heslet Scholar Award. The Heslet Scholar is awarded to the student whose research was intensely impressive and whose presentation was of the highest quality.
The award is named for May Lou Heslet, a former Foothill counselor and director of the Foothill Honors program, who helped found the symposium, now in it's 12th year.
See the full list of Foothill student presenters and their faculty mentors.
Research & Service Leadership Symposium
In its second year, the Research and Service Leadership Symposium provides all students an opportunity to gain experience presenting in a professional conference setting on the Foothill campus. The event includes an awards ceremony, a keynote speaker, and presentations throughout the day.
During this event, Foothill honors students may submit and share their research work with the larger Foothill community of students, faculty and staff in both presentation and poster format.
The next RSL Symposium is Thursday, May 16, 2019. View the program schedule
