About Me
I grew up in the Bay Area and attended community college myself, enjoying the more hands-on teaching that occurs in these colleges and concluding that many courses are taught more effectively in community college than they are in four year colleges. At U.C. Santa Barbara, where I completed my undergraduate work, I had some small classes where we talked to each other, but I was more likely to spend all or most of my time listening to lectures in class, rather than engaging with each other in the making and discovering of knowledge and ideas. So, in my opinion, you have come to the right place, a place where communities of learning thrive! I have been teaching English classes at Foothill College since January of 2024, and teaching at other Bay Area colleges most of that time as well.
I love to read, write, travel, listen to music, and play with children and dogs. Of course I love teaching too. I would not still be doing it after all these years if I didn't.
