Foothill Innovation Challenge

Testimonials from Past Participants

Meet LiaCompeting in BIC was incredibly beneficial for an aspiring entrepreneur; it allowed me to dive deeper into a topic I was passionate about, build out a business plan and get real-time feedback and validation, and learn from like-minded peers, investors, and other industry experts.

Lia Fernandez—Foothill College, 2nd Year, 1st Place Winner 2022 Business Innovation Challenge

Meet YashDeciding to participate in the BIC was an easy choice. This was the perfect opportunity to share an idea that I had already been working on with the BIC community and gain feedback that I could directly apply during our development process. BIC has an incredible reputation, and I thought it would be a great opportunity for exposure and networking to help my idea succeed.

Yash Gandhi—Foothill College 2022, SJSU 3rd Year MIS, 2022 Business Innovation Challenge Finalist

Meet GeorginaBeing in the Working Team of the 2022 BIC, I witnessed first-hand the degree to which the potential of this innovation initiative pushed students' entrepreneurial and social change spirit in deep, meaningful ways. I was part of the recruiting team for underrepresented populations and my primary goal was to communicate that BIC is a competition inclusive for ALL. Experiencing the preparedness and level of leadership enacted in last year's teams made me beyond proud of the potential Foothill students have to turn an idea into a tangible social impact project.

Meet LiaBIC provides a creative opportunity to put an intangible idea to implementation. What separates an idea from real products or services is process. Learning how to reframe and iterate to complete a goal, sets one up for solving problems in life. Where can I plant my seed to make my surrounding community a better place for everyone?
