Dental Hygiene Director Writes for League Report
Congratulations to Phyllis Spragge, director of the college's dental hygiene program! Spragge's case study on our baccalaureate degree was featured in the League for Innovation's report Community College Baccalaureate: Supporting Regional Economic Development. Her article begins on page 64.
The first class to receive the B.S. in dental hygiene will graduate this coming June. The program launched in fall 2016 as part of a statewide pilot allowing community colleges to award bachelor's degrees. California offers no baccalaureate degrees in dental hygiene at UC or CSU campuses. Allowing such programs offers an affordable alternative to programs at private universities and colleges.
