Science Learning Institute to Host 1st STEMathon

On May 7, 2022, the Science Learning Institute (SLI) will host its first-ever STEMathon. This day-long event brings students together to use design thinking to imagine solutions to STEM issues at Foothill and beyond.

Students participating will tackle topics that focus on the lack of diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM. The event's goals are for students to:

• Learn about the different STEM issues at Foothill and how they affect underrepresented and isolated groups.

• Collaborate with others and brainstorm different solutions.

• Build a sense of community and create connections.
