Foothill College Voted #1 in Bay Area

Foothill College is honored to be voted the best community college in the Bay Area by the Bay Area News Group readers.

From our first graduating class of 37 students in 1960, Foothill College has grown to serve approximately 11,000 students each quarter. Foothill has consistently been recognized as one of the very best community colleges in the country and as a national leader in transfer and workforce pathways.* This recognition is due to the exemplary work of our dedicated faculty and staff and the talents of the extraordinary students who graduate each year.

Whether you are looking to transfer to a UC, CSU, or private university of train for a high-wage profession, Foothill has the programs for you! We have a guaranteed transfer agreement with six University of California campuses and also have a Transfer Alliance Program with UCLA which, although not guaranteeing admission, provides students with a vastly increased acceptance rate.

Foothill’s Workforce training programs offer students a clear pathway into life-long careers. These programs, including Respiratory Therapy, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting, Radiologic Technology, Veterinary Technology, Pharmacy Technology, Ornamental Horticulture, and more have courses of study that last anywhere from nine months to two years.

This year, we are celebrating our seventh cohort of students who will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. We have also been approved to add a second Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy. Foothill is one of only seven community colleges to be approved to offer two baccalaureate degrees in the State of California.
