Palo Alto City Council Recognizes EMS Program

emt program receives award

On Feb. 12, 2018, the Palo Alto City Council adopted a proclamation expressing appreciation to the Foothill College Emergency Medical Services Program for educating emergency medical technicians and paramedics and for ongoing support of the City of Palo Alto’s Emergency Medical Services. The proclamation was presented at the weekly City Council meeting. Board of Trustee member Bruce Swenson and Palo Alto Mayor Liz Kniss were both in attendance.

The ceremony honored Kate Peters, a student in the paramedic program, and a Palo Alto park ranger, Robbie Parry. The two came to the aid of a man who collapsed during a race, and provided assistance until paramedics arrived. Read the full story here.
