Prospective Students
How To Apply
To be eligible for admission, you will need to submit the following:
1. Application (required)
Create an account and complete the online application: https://applyinternational.fhda.edu/apply/
2. English proficiency test score (required)
Upload a copy/original proof of English proficiency test score, taken within the last
2 years (ex: if the year is 2018, your test must have been taken between 2016-2018).
A minimum score on any of the following examinations is required for admission:
TOEFL - 61 iBT (Foothill ETS code is 4315) or 46 PbT (Paper-based Test)
IELTS - 6.0
iTEP - Level 4
EIKEN - 2A
Duolingo - 95 DET (50 DET older version)
Pearson PTE Academic - 45
Cambridge - 175+ on advanced or proficiency exam
GTEC CBT - 1100
3. Financial Statement (required for students applying for an F-1 visa)
Upload an original/official bank letter that meets our requirement of estimated cost and dated within the last 6 months (ex:
if you are submitting for January 30 deadline, your letter must be dated betwen August
- January).
If your bank is located in the U.S. and a bank letter can't be produced, you may submit
a bank statement that meets our total estimated cost. In order to verify that the
funds are currently available, you or your sponsor will be required to come into the
office and log in to the account.

4. Transcripts (required)
Upload an official school transcript. If you are under 18 years old, you must submit proof of high school
completion or equivalent. All documents must be in English or officially translated
into English. For students who attended schools in the U.S., please submit an official
transcript from all schools you've attended.
5. Application Fee (required)
We require a $75 USD application fee to review your application and determine your
eligibility if you are applying for the winter, spring, or fall 2021 start terms.
Please note that the payment of the $75 application fee will be waived for all winter 2022 and spring 2022 applicants as of 10/15/2021.
This fee is non-refundable.
6. Shipping Fee (required, if applicable)
If your admission decision packet needs to be mailed outside of the U.S., we require a $75 USD shipping fee if you are applying for winter, spring, or fall 2021 start terms.
The shipping fee will not be charged for mail within the U.S. or for students applying for the fall 2020 start term.
This fee is non-refundable.
7. Minor Student Authorization (required, if applicable)
If you are under 18 years old, we require authorization from your parents or legal guardian that you can attend Foothill College.
8. Dependent Form (required, if applicable)
If you have dependents who will accompany you as an F-1 visa, you will be asked to complete this form. Your financial statement must also show additional funds for each dependent.

Foothill College does not evaluate foreign transcripts for course waivers or to transfer credits. Your transcript must be evaluated by a third party before submitting to our office. For more information, please visit foreign transcripts.
