This is an introductory business law course designed to show how laws affect every aspect of our daily lives. America is a nation of laws. We have laws regulating the foods that we eat, the clothing that we wear, how we drive, how we conduct business, and how we resolve disputes with one another, to name a few. Laws provide the framework for how a society functions. Laws help to define what are socially acceptable behaviors and the consequences for violating them. This course is an introduction to legal terms and concepts, the federal and state judicial systems, torts, negligences, contracts, and critical thinking through legal analysis. In this course, we will be discussing contemporary legal and business issues, and how they affect our lives. There are a plethora of daily news articles about the law that have an impact on our lives. Sometimes we see the law and at other times we see the consequences of the law. Hopefully we can engage in lively discussions on so
me of these current topics.
