Information for Scholarship Readers

Foothill Financial Aid Office is in URGENT need of volunteers to read student scholarship applications. Each year, the FHDA Foundation awards more than $400,000 in scholarship funds. Scholarship readers play a significant role in scoring the scholars and ensuring that scholarships are appropriately distributed. Reviewing and scoring the applications would not be possible without our scholarship readers' commitment and efforts.

Scholarship Readers will… 

• Receive a GIFT from our department for your appreciated and valued time.
• Read the scholarships online. 
• You can read scholarship applications anywhere as long as you have internet access.
• Review and score scholarship applications according to the assessment criteria.
• Within your own schedule, you can review and score the applications
• No meetings to attend.
• If you are Classified Staff, you can use the hours you serve for Professional Growth Award (PGA) credit. If you are Faculty, you may be able to use the hours you serve for Professional Achievement Service. Please check with the Academic Senate for more information.
