Hello wonderful Foothill Community!
My name is Dr. Sarah Strader-Garcia, and I am an instructor at Foothill College and
a Licensed Psychotherapist in private practice. I was born in Madrid, Spain, and moved
to California when I was a child. I grew up in the Bay Area and spent my summers in
Spain with my mother’s side of the family, writing and performing plays with my cousins
and swimming at my uncle’s house. I earned my BA in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish
at UC Irvine and earned my PhD in Psychology at The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist,
and a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist.
I have been in the field for over 12 years and specialize in working with Highly Sensitive
People. I enjoy working with diverse clients in my private practice, and love to support
their personal growth. If you’d like to learn more about my private practice, you
can review my website at: sarahstradercounseling.com.
At Foothill College, I enjoy teaching classes in Human Development and General Psychology.
I value the importance of personal growth and my classes often incorporate self-reflection.
Not only will students learn about important concepts in the field of psychology,
but my hope is that they will also learn a lot about themselves!
In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga and ballet, hiking, and relaxing with my
husband and 2 cats Lina and Teddy. If you have any questions about the courses I teach,
you can contact me at: stradersarah@fhda.edu. I’m looking forward to getting to know you!
