I started my academic career later in life. As a life long learner, I was thrilled
to be back in the classroom in my forties. After getting my AA in psychology at Foothill
, I moved onto SFSU and then finished my B.A. and Master's online during a life move.
Psychology and how people behave ( and why) has always been a fascination for me.
Much of my background has been working with people with disabilities and the challenges
they face not only due to disability but also the stigmas and stereotypes that go
along with mental and physical disabilities. As society struggles to define “normal”
I continue to believe that we also need to consider cultural and family norms in that
definition.
I am a big believer that it is never too late to go to school and support non traditional
students in the choice to come back.
In my spare time I am “Mom” to two impossibly spoiled Goldens, run a small engraving
business and train for 10k and 5k races.
