I am a clinical psychologist, Bay Area native, and have been an instructor with Foothill
College since 2018. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Augsburg
College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and both my Master of Arts degree in Counseling
Psychology and Ph.D. in Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology from the University
of California, Santa Barbara.
I approach the field as a scientist-practitioner, and as such, I divide my professional
time between teaching, research, and clinical practice (assessment and psychotherapy).
I appreciate the applied nature of the field of psychology and the broad professional
opportunities available. I am also a lifelong learner. I enjoy continued involvement
in a variety of professional activities as well as reading for fun, listening to podcasts,
gardening, cooking, running, and ice hockey.
My passion for education spans beyond the instruction and dissemination of knowledge;
I believe that the ultimate goal of education is not the accumulation of facts alone,
but the cultivation of curiosity, an appreciation of learning, and the application
of knowledge and experience to life, one’s community, and various “real-world” circumstances.
My courses are structured for students to think in this manner and I find introducing
students to psychology to be particularly exciting and fulfilling.
I appreciate your interest in my courses. To streamline the process and ensure efficiency
for all, the College has implemented an online system for add code requests. I kindly
request you to follow the instructions provided on the College website to submit your
add code request to me. The instructions can be found in the Online Learning –> Students
–> Add or Drop an Online Course web page at: https://foothill.edu/onlinelearning/students/request-add-code.html. Please carefully review the guidelines and complete the necessary steps as outlined.
This will help me manage the requests efficiently and fairly.
Should you encounter any difficulties or have any questions while following the online
instructions, please reach out to Admissions and Records by phone, email, or chat
at 650-949-7325, Student Services Building 8100 Room 8101, or https://foothill.edu/reg/contact.html. The College is here to assist you throughout the process and address any concerns
you may have.
I appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to the online procedure.
By doing so, we can ensure a smooth enrollment process for all. Add codes will be
sent out to your email account on file with the College as spots open up in the course
during the first week. Please monitor your spam/junk mail folder.
Again, thank you for your interest in my courses.
