Eligibility Requirements
- First-time college student OR have not yet completed ENGL 1A and college level Math
- Academic goal to transfer to four-year university, Earn a Degree or Certificate, or complete a Workforce program
- Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov or California Dream Act application for the 24-25 academic year.
Application Process
- Submit the Umoja Program Interest Form
- Meet with Umoja counselor Dokesha Meacham. She will email you upon receipt of the interest form. You can also schedule an appointment at meachamdokesha@fhda.edu.
- Complete the Student Contract Form.
Program Requirements
- Attend the 3-day, in-person 2024 Umoja Orientation on Tuesday, Wedneday and Thursday, Sept. 10–12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
- Attend Umoja classes Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 10am to 1pm on campus
- Meet with Umoja counselor at least 2 times per quarter
- Attend at least 3 Umoja events per quarter
- Complete the designated Umoja courses.
- Maintain a minimum C average in all college courses
