• Mar/26-27/Thu-Fri, STEM Center Tutoring Online CLOSED. 

 

 

STEM Center Online Access

 To access the Foothill College  online system, follow the process below: 

 

Section 1:  Hardware you will need

Below is the hardware you will need to be able to provide tutoring online

• Laptop
• Headset

 

 

Section 2:  Software you will need

Below is the software you will need to be able to provide tutoring online

• SARS --  Access via the web. Training available.
• ZOOM -- Connect via the web:  
• CANVAS -- Connect via web

 

 

Section 3:  Using the Tutoring Online System

Please follow the steps below when accessing the Foothill College Tutoring Online System

1. INSTRUCTORS:  LOGIN TO THE ZOOM SESSION
   1. Click on the section 4 appropriate link for your session
   2. Once you click on the provided link for your specific ZOOM session,you, as the STEM Center Tutor, will be Host or co-host.
   3. You will need to take student to a Breakout Session by clicking on the Breakout Session button on the lower right of the Zoom window. 
2. STUDENTS:  LOGIN TO THE ZOOM SESSION
   1. Click on the section 4 appropriate link for your class
   2. Wait for one of the Tutors to place you in a Breakout Session
3. STUDENTS:  LOG IN TO THE SARS SESSION: Details will be worked out.  we may not do this
   1. Log in by typing your Campus-wide ID (CWID) number on the SARS Login System. If you don’t have a PSME (Physical Sciences, Math, Engineering) major, please sign in on the clipboard on the main desk.
   2. Click on Study/Tutoring. 
   3. Please remember to LOG OUT when you leave.
4. STUDENTS:  REQUEST A TUTOR -- Details will be worked out. we may not do this
   
   1. To get help with astronomy, mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering and biology, request a tutoring session.
      1. Log in on the Tutor Request page: 
      2. Type in your CWID (Student ID)
      3. Enter your field of study
      4. Wait for the next available staff member to call your name and assist you, in a ZOOM breakout session 

 

Section 4:  Tutoring Online:  CS Lab 

Select the appropriate STEM Center Tutoring Lab to connect to the correct ZOOM session

• TLC ZOOM:  Zoom link to be provided
• Pass The Torch (PTT):  Zoom link to be provided
• STEM Center:  Select the appropriate Zoom Link below:
  • Foundations Lab and Main Lab (All levels of Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Math, Physics):  Zoom link to be provided
  • CS Lab (Already online):    https://fhda-edu.zoom.us/j/745523298 
    • NOTE: Tutors available ONLY during the below hours: 
      • Mon-Thu :  9am–12midnight
      • Fri: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
      • Sat: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
      • Sun :  11am –12 Midnight
  • Business Lab (Accounting and Economics):  Zoom link to be provided
  • The Garden (Athletics, DRC, Geography, MPS, PsychSvcs, VRC) and The Village (Umoja, Puente: Zoom link to be provided
  • Network Lab:  Zoom link to be provided
