Thank you for your interest in student employment opportunities at the Foothill College STEM Center. Below is the status of opportunities. Although there may be no open positions currently, check back, as we list job openings as these become available.
Clerical Assistant:
Status:
- Fall 2020: Hiring completed. Applications for these positions closed for this quarter.
- Winter 2020 Quarter: There are currently no open positions for the Winter 2020 quarter.
Instructional Assistant (Student Embedded Tutor)
Status:
- Fall 2020 Quarter: Hiring completed. Applications for these positions closed for this quarter.
- Winter 2020 Quarter: On October 27, 2020, follow the steps below to explore and identify potential opportunities as a STEM Center Instructional Assistant
Classes to tutor:
- Embedded Tutors support the following classes:
- Math 10,
- Math-48A,
- Math-105,
- Math-180.
How to get hired:
- Each quarter, Instructors for the above classes go thru the process of identifying their Instructional Assistant candidates and submit the candidate's information to the STEM Center for evaluation and hiring by the Student Employment Office.

Steps to do:
- Look at the Foothill College Schedule of Classes for the following quarter. In this case, the Winter 2020 quarter schedule.
- Identify the classes you qualify to tutor and match your availability.
- Contact the Instructor and ask if they are in need of an Instructional Assistant (Student Embedded Tutor).
If there is a need for a tutor:
If the Instructor does identify a need for a Student Embedded Tutor, they will proceed with the pre-screening process. If candidate qualifies, they will complete the appropriate information for the STEM Center to proceed with the additional qualification steps, then submit to the Student Employment Office. If canddate qualifies, they will complete the appropriate information for the STEM Center to proceed with the additional qualification steps, then submit to the Student Employment Office.
