Construction Zones and Impacts

Smithwick Theatre Closed
New roof and laminated beams will be added to the Smithwick. Access to restrooms, Lot 1A and stairs from Lot 1 will be impacted.

- The building will be fenced off and Lot 1A will be closed.
- There will be no access to the two restrooms in the Smithwick. Nearest open restrooms are in the Campus Center.
- There will be no direct access from Lot 1 as the stairs next to the Smithwick will be fenced.
- When parking in Lot 1, please use the walking pathway to Lot 8 and enter the campus through the Lower Campus stairs. For parking lot locations, see campus map.
Library Restrooms Closed
The two restrooms inside the Library (3500) will be converted to all gender. The library will remain in use, but students who require a distraction-free studying space will be made aware of alternate rooms (LRC/STEM Center, etc.) that they can use as well as the locations of the nearest restrooms.
8500 Restrooms Closed
The two restrooms outside the Veterinary Technology classroom (8507) will be converted to all gender. Restrooms on the next floor (8600) will be open.
What are Measures G and C?
Measure G
On March 3, 2020, voters in the Foothill-De Anza Community College District’s service area approved by a 58.8% margin an $898 million general obligation bond measure to upgrade facilities preparing students/veterans for university transfer
and careers in fields such as healthcare, nursing, technology, engineering/sciences;
to upgrade and repair aging classrooms as well as labs for science, technology, engineering/math-related
fields of instruction; and to acquire, construct, repair facilities, equipment and
sites.
Measure C
On June 6, 2006, voters in the Foothill-De Anze Community College District's service area approved by a 65.69% margin a $490.8 million bond (Measure C).
These measures have and will enable the District to:
- Upgrade electrical, heating, ventilation systems, fire/seismic safety;
- Repair leaky roofs;
- Improve disabled access;
- Repair/expand classrooms;
- Upgrade technology; and
- Repair, construct, acquire, equip buildings, classrooms, libraries, sites, science/computer labs.

Measure C Project Updates
Fall 2018
All major projects have been completed with the exception of the new district office building, which began construction January 2017. Estimated completion date is December 2018.
