Our Strategic Priorities

To fulfill the mission, the Diversity in Tech (DIT)  has set the following strategic priorities:

                                                  TALENT

Increase the talent pool of African American,  Latinx, Native American and female community college graduates trained in enter the tech workforce in DevOps and CyberSecurity. CyberSecurity.

  EMPLOYMENT

Work with employers - human resources, recruiters and hiring departments to employ community college graduates prepared to enter into the DevOps and CyberSecurity. CyberSecurity fields.

Our collective work to achieve these priorities focuses on both the dissemination of programmatic best practices and collaborative engagements to seek systemic changes for equity. Through this dual approach of programmatic expansion and systemic change, fall the four areas of work of the DIT.

PROGRAMS SYSTEMS CHANGE

Our 3 Pillars

The Three pillars which guide the work and collaboration of Diversity in Tech are as follows:

I. Hidden Gem

Community Colleges are the key  to educational attainment for students, providing a wealth of opportunity to build a morediverse tech workforce

II.  Strength in Numbers

Diversity in Tech cannot be achieved alone - we value our strong collaboration among and between colleges non-profits and industry.

III. Think Regionally, Act Locally

To diversify the regional workforce, we each have our part in our local context to take action and change our practices to improve.

Get Engaged

Our coalition strongly believes that only through cross-sector collaboration can we transform Tech to create new opportunities for women and people of color. We welcome your partnership and new ideas to learn how more colleges, nonprofits, companies and others can contribute to this important work.

Our Partners

The Bay Area Community College Consortia (BACCC)  voted to support this promising approach by funding the regional Diversity in Tech initiative (DIT) through the Strong Workforce Program Regional Joint Venture funds.
