RSI Part 1 Not Completed
If you did not attend District Opening Day and College Opening Day RSI discussions (6 hours), to be assigned an online class in Spring of 2025, you need to complete the RSI Part 1 training by the end of Fall 2024
- Online Learning is offering two asynchronous sessions for Part 1. Part time faculty
will be paid a $300 stipend for completing this 6-hour training.
- Session 1 runs October 14 to November 1. Registration link
- Session 2 runs November 4 to November 22. Registration link
- Complete Part I by November 29.
- Faculty who completed equivalent training at another institution in the prior two years can petition for equivalency
RSI Part 2 Professional Learning
Option 1: Peer Group Discussion (Culture Pods)
Requirements:

Three 90-minute peer cohort conversations.

Three 30-minute professional development (PD) workshops on RSI and Accessibility.

Weekly tracking and reflection on RSI in your classes.

Revision of your communication plan.
- Compensation: $500 or 2 units of PGA for completing the discussion cohort.

Invites will be sent to instructors who have completed Part I by October 10.

Within the course, you’ll form cohorts of 5 to 8 faculty by October 14.

Complete Part II by the end of Winter 2025 for a Fall 2025 online teaching assignment.

Option 2: J1 Evaluation

Complete RSI Part 2 via a J1B or J1C evaluation from your dean.

J1B must receive a ''MT'' rating on item 8; J1C must receive a ''MT'' on item 6.

Request your J1 evaluation as soon as possible with a goal to complete by the end of Winter 2025 for a Fall 2025 teaching assignment

RSI Part 2 Workshops (30-minute PD Sessions):
Workshops Overview:
- Three 30-minute workshops on RSI tools and strategies.
- Focus on enhancing regular substantive interaction (RSI) and student progress monitoring.
- Weekly 30-minute sessions offered by Online Learning. You choose three to attend.
- Workshops will introduce Canvas tools and communication strategies to streamline your teaching.
