Humanities Lecture: Empowering Inmates Through the Arts

Join Koorosh Ostowari, a Somatic Trauma therapist, for his talk on Teaching for Equity: Empowering Inmates Through the Arts for Second Chance in Life.
From 2009 to 2019, Ostowari worked with thousands of incarcerated men and women as a spirituality and communications teacher at a local jail in Marin County. He offered a combination of tools for men and women during the weekly classes to support them to heal old wounds, traumas, dysfunctional patterns, and habits that often lead to incarceration.
He has been officially acknowledged as a "Local leader for change" by the U.S Congress for his work at the Jail.
