Equity in Education
Part of Native American Heritage Month
Join by Zoom
November 06, 2020
Foothill College Native American Heritage Month Co-Founder and Language Arts Professor Dr. Scott Lankford will welcome Greg Sarris, tribal chair of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria and professor of Native American Studies and Creative Writing at CSU Sonoma.
Greg Sarris's literary work defines those who live on this continent in new ways; his stories reflect the tragedy of exile, our painful separation from the land and from each other, and the radiant potential for reunion.
In partnership with the Smithsonian Institute and the Museum of the American Indian, Dr. Sarris will discuss his debuting a brand new Native American History curriculum specifically designed for high school students nationwide this month. We aim that you will leave encouraged to persevere through your personal and professional triumphs as Dr. Sarris had major challenges during high school, is a community college transfer success story and is a UCLA and Stanford alum.
Co-sponsored by the ASFC Activities Board and Middle College.
