We are all connected as a piece of life's purpose-based puzzle as all humans can benefit from mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual learning via paradoxes that adapt mental models, while we were born to learn from other humans and their beautiful backgrounds. Please join the Associated Students of Foothill College (ASFC) student government and Hillel of Silicon Valley while we offer a fall Welcome Week safe space to invite new and returning community members, students, and staff to hear and discuss how we are all simultaneously similar and drastically different, yet uniquely connected while all backgrounds are beautiful pieces of life's purpose-based puzzle and we can all benefit from learning via paradoxes. This event is featuring a discussion of Antisemitism with keynote speaker and moderator Vlad Khaykin from San Francisco' s National Director of Programs on Antisemitism. Interconnectedness is an urgent topic that we desire to discuss as the Foothill family!

Vlad was born in the Soviet Union, arriving with his family in the US in 1989, receiving asylum as Jewish refugees. Raised in the Bay Area, Vlad studied economics and business management at the University of California, Santa Cruz. After graduation, he worked at several local Jewish educational organizations before earning dual Master’s degrees in Non-Profit Leadership and Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University. Vlad worked in the International Programs department of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston. Most recently, Vlad served as the Assistant Director for Communications and Advocacy for the American Jewish Committee in Philadelphia.
