Join us for a lecture with Foothill English professor Scott Lankford about U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo and the MMIW Campaign.

Celebrated poet, essayist, and activist Joy Harjo was recently proclaimed the first-ever U.S. Poet Laureate of Native American descent for 2019.

Professor Lankford's talk will introduce Harjo's life and poetry to new readers, highlighting Harjo's leading role in battling the ongoing nationwide crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women unfolding across the U.S. (including here in California).
