Negotiating Boundaries: Women of Color in Northern California History

Campus Center Dining Room (2201); Hearthside Lounge (2313)

March 02, 2019

10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Los Altos History Museum's day-long symposium brings together a dynamic line-up of scholars from archeology, history, ethnic studies, gender studies, and environmental justice studies. Join in this discussion as we fill the gaps in our collective memory about women of color in Northern California history.

This program expands on the remarkable life and times of Juana Briones (1802-1889), the subject of LAHM's current exhibit Inspired by Juana: La Doa de la Frontera (October 2018-March 31, 2019).

Registration begins at 9:30am. Foothill students receive free admission with student ID. Lunch not included, but can be purchased for $5. Advance tickets can be purchased.

Reception at Los Altos History Museum from 4-5 p.m.
