Smoking Policy

Foothill Is A Non-Smoking Campus

Smoking Policy

No Smoking

To provide a healthy learning and working environment for students and employees, smoking is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor campus locations, with the exception of designated areas as defined by the college. See map below for specific locations in parking lots listed.

The Foothill College smoke policy is guided by District Board Policy 3217 (revised March 12, 2012) and California Government Code Sec. 7596-7598 (amended Oct. 8, 2011). Smoking fines are distributed 70% to District Police and 30% to Health Services stop-smoking programs.

Smoking outside of designated areas will result in the following fines:

  • $25 / First offense
  • $50 / Second offense
  • $75 / Third and subsequent offenses
  • Note: Fourth or subsequent offense may also result in student judicial proceedings
