the results of the most recent Smoking Policy Survey.
PRC: PROGRAM RECOMMENDATION CORRECTION
The Program Review Committee recommended that the "red" rating for Kinesiology (ADT) and Athletic Injury Care (AS) for 2015-16 be removed and each program complete a comprehensive program review in 2016-17.
OPC RESOURCE ALLOCATION RECOMMENDATIONS
dean's prioritizations as well as the area VP prioritizations. She noted that OPC reviews the requests that are rated as HIGH by the area vice president;
of the 190 total requests, close to 50% were rated HIGH by the Vice Presidents. When reviewing the HIGH rated requests, OPC considers program review, previous allocations as well as previous requests as part of their rating rubric. OPC then adds the committee
recommendations for the President to evaluate and consider. A LOW rating from OPC does not necessarily mean that the funding requests will not be granted, that decision is ultimately up to the President. PaRC rated the requests and will forward to the President.

Dahlia Salem first woman of color to lead statewide student organization
At age 19, Foothill College student Dahlia Salem is the first woman of color to be elected president of the Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC), the
organization that represents the 2.1 million students at all community colleges. Rather than attend UC Santa Barbara or UC Irvine as a freshman, the computer science major chose to complete her first two years of college at Foothill, knowing she'd receive
an excellent education and save a significant amount of money.
"I knew I'd get a high-quality education without the steep price tag," she says. "I also knew that by attending Foothill, I'd have time to discover what I'm passionate about." A resident of Mountain View who works as an online
math tutor for a Silicon Valley start-up, Salem quickly discovered that her passion is advocating for fellow students.

Human Library challenges stereotypes
The Human Library is a powerful experience that gives faculty, staff, and students the ability to "check out" a real person instead of a book. Designed by author Jim Van Buskirk, the Library is designed to challenge stereotypes and prejudices through
dialogue. The college is invited to experience it on Monday, June 6 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. in front of the Campus Library.
At 12 noon, join Buskirk for a discussion of the library. Bring cash to purchase food from the Bacon Bacon and Crepe food trucks.

Foothill College Good News Corner!
The Foothill College men's and women's swimming teams finished 10th and 9th in the state, respectively - their highest rankings in decades! The biggest splash this season was made by
Layna Auchard who repeated her championship-winning performance in the women's 200-yard breaststroke. A Japanese major who will transfer to UC Davis this fall, Layna was determined to end her competitive swimming career as a champion ... and
she certainly did!
