February is Black History Month

Help us kick off Black History Month on Wednesday, Feb. 7! Our keynote speaker is the Honorable Elihu M. Harris, who served as mayor of Oakland for two terms. Mr. Harris was a 12-year member of the California State Assembly, during which time he authored the historic 1981 legislation designating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday a California state holiday.

The event begins at 12 p.m. in the Dining Hall. Check the calendar for other event details.
Foothill College Good News Corner!

Dozens of our student-athletes and staff members have served the community this month by distributing food and clothing to the homeless. The students have decided to make service a focus this year. We applaud their great work!

This ongoing volunteer work is just one of President Nguyen's #60for60 service learning projects. For the full list, visit our website. Got a project to add? Email Peter Chow

The Foothill College Fusion faculty & staff newsletter is published the first Thursday of each month. Have something you would like to share with the Foothill College community? Email  Vanessa Smith.
