What We Do

For Students

FEI provides current and future students with many opportunities including:

  • Internship opportunities
  • Enrolling in Non-Credit courses at Foothill College
  • Support Navigating College
  • Identifying resources to support the college-experience
  • Mentorship & coaching for work-force readiness

FEI's Stretch To Kindergarten is very significant to me because it has allowed me to explore the many ways I can make an impact on a child’s life. This program has helped me become more motivated to reach my goals in education.

For Families

Workshops for Families:

  • Strong Start Parenting Birth-Adolescence
  • Male Involvement/Fatherhood
  • Stretch to Kindergarten (STK)
  • Pathways to College
  • Healthy Choices
  • Family Literacy
  • Family Learning Labs
  • Leadership

As a father, something was missing. I was not able to connect with my daughter until one day I went to an FEI workshop at my daughter's middle school. It did not take me long to realize I was not the only parent with the same issues.  I saw other parents sharing their struggles and felt comfortable sharing my own. I kept coming to the program; I changed the way I talked to my daughter, was more understanding and our relationship started to change. I noticed that I became a better listener and more understanding of others.

For Educators/Providers

Professional Development:

  • Strategic Planning and Implementation
  • Cultural Competency
  • Dual Language Learners
  • Early Math and Science

I'd like to take the opportunity to the FEI team for the wonderful work you are doing at our school! I have heard wonderful comments about your program from both our parents and staff. You have helped us tremendously in engaging our parents and meeting them precisely at their level of need.
