Services & Support
The Disability Resource Center (DRC) has long wished to offer additional academic support for our students. With our move to the Student Resource Center located in the 5400 Building on the Foothill Campus, we are now able to provide academic coaching services.
The DRC received a generous grant from a donor who wanted her contribution to the Disability Resource Center to enhance student academic opportunities and increase success and persistence as students complete their coursework and move toward graduation and transfer.
The Foothill Academic Coaching Team (FACT) is composed of three Master’s level students from a local university.
FACT will work with students with disabilities on a one-to-one basis and also offer a series of workshops in the following areas:
- Time management
- Short and long term planning
- Note-taking and study skills
- Test preparation
- Reduction of test anxiety
- Utilization of technology
- Stress reduction
- School, life and work balance
FACT members are supervised by DRC Academic Counselors and each coach is available to work with students once or twice a week in the 5400 Building.
Please refer students by calling Janet Weber at 650.949.7102 or email her for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To further facilitate student educational success and empowerment, FACT has created a blog which will be available to all interested Foothill students.
The blog, The Coaches’ Playbook, will introduce our coaches, include useful academic tips and techniques, share session vignettes and offer helpful take-a-ways from student sessions and workshops. We hope the blog will add to our student's academic success and make their college learning experience more enjoyable.

Students are encouraged to check The Coaches’ Playbook often.
