Asilah JenningsAkilah Jennings Named First Team All State

Sophomore Guard Akilah Jennings was recognized as one of the Top 6 players on Nor Cal and Top 12 in the State by being voted First Team All State.  Akilah will transfer to play on full scholarship at UC Santa Barbara next season. 

Foothill Puts up a Valiant Effort against the State Champion

With four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Foothill trailed Mt. San Antonio by 7 points in the State Quarterfinal game. Mt. Sac hit a 3 to extend the lead to 10 and eventually went on to win by a final score of 58-46 thereby ending the Owls season. Mt. Sac went on to be the CCCWBCA 2016-17 State Champion.

Foothill Finishes with the #1 Defense in the State

For the Third year in a row Foothill boasts the Top Defense in the State holding their opponents to just 45.8 points per game over 32 games played.

Five Foothill Players Named to the Coast Conference All-League Team

Sophomore Post Players Tyiteyana Jefferson and Essence Johnson were named First Team All-League along with Akilah Jennings, who was named the 2017 Coast Conference South MVP.  Lira Nidfon and Tiffani Lowe were named Second Team All League.  Congratulations to the entire Starting Five named to the 2017 All League Team.

Foothill Heads to Final State Elite 8 Tournament

Foothill upset the #1 team in the North, Sierra College (25-4), by a final score of 51-45 on Friday, March 4. The win gave the Owls (23-8) a berth into the California Community College State Elite 8 Tournament to be held at Las Positas College March 10-12. This will be the 8th time Foothill College has gone to the Elite 8 with the last time being in 2012. The Owls jumped on the home team early going up 22-14 at the end of the first quarter and lead 31-18 at half time. The Owls defense held Sierra to just 45 points, far below their offensive average of 75.8 points per game. Everyone on the Foothill roster scored, lead by sophomore Tyiteyana Jefferson and freshman Tiffani Lowe with 11 points each. The #4 (North) Owls will now play #1 (South) Mt. San Antonio at 1 p.m. on Friday March 10 at Las Positas College. Winner will reach the Final 4.

Foothill Advances to Nor Cal Regional Final

With a dominant performance against Chabot on Friday night Foothill advances to the Nor Cal Regional Final on Saturday March 4 against #1 Sierra College. The Owls defeated Chabot College by a final score of 77-47. Foothill set the tone early opening up a 24 point lead by halftime. Foothill lead 50-26 at half and never looked back. Everyone on the Foothill roster scored lead by Akilah Jennings with 17 points, 4 assists and 10 steals followed by Lira Ndifonwith 13 points and 11 rebounds and Jikara Sellers with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Tyiteyana Jefferson had 10 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds and Essence Johnson was also in double figures with 10 points. The Owls travel to Sierra for a 7 p.m. Tip off in Rocklin, CA on Saturday March 4th.


Foothill will host Chabot on Friday night at 7 p.m. in the second round of the Nor Cal Regionals. Tickets are $8 for students, children 12 and under, and seniors 55 and over. $12 for all others.


Congratulations go out to the Foothill College Owls who are League Champions for the Third Year in a Row! Foothill defeated Mission College last night by a final score of 76-42 to clinch the 2017 Coast Conference Championship and their 17th League Title in 20 years. In a game to determine first place, everyone scored for the Owls and they were lead by their 4 sophomores, Akilah Jennings with 21 points, Lira Ndifon with 12 points, Tyiteyana Jefferson and Essence Johnson with 10 points each. Foothill plays their last league game at Gavilan this Friday at 5pm.

Coming off Back to Back Undefeated

Coming off Back to Back Undefeated - Coast Conference League Titles the 2016-17 season looks promising for a 3-Peat. The Owls return All-League players AJ Leasau and Tyiteyana Jefferson along with Lira Ndifon, Erica Ginn and Essence Johnson from last year's Championship team. Foothill is also excited to add Sophomore transfer Akilah Jennings for the upcoming season. Akilah transferred back home from Northern Colorado University where she competed last season as a Freshman. In addition to the sophomores, Coach Craig is looking forward to the addition of freshman Jikara Sellers and Desiree Dedrick (Florin HS) as well as Carissa Mills (Kings Academy),Tiffani Lowe (Lowell HS) and Briana Reynolds (Aragon HS).

Foothill Undefeated in League Play

With a 58-53 victory over Mission College on Friday night, Foothill repeats as Back to Back Undefeated League Champions. The Owls were lead by Angie Reid with 16, AJ Leasau with 14 and Shania Ratliff with 12 points each. Angie also had 11 rebounds. The Owls finished League play with a perfect 12-0 Conference record.

Foothill Players Recognized with All Conference Honors

Foothill College's Angie Reid was named the South Coast Conference MVP for the second year in a row. Angie averaged 16.4 points and 8 rebounds per game this past season in league. Sophomore Captain Breanna Salary was also named First Team All-Conference along with Sophomore Guard Lauren Lete and Freshman guard AJ Leasau. Sophomore Guard Shania Ratliff and Freshman Forward Tyiteyana Jefferson were named Second Team All League.

Coach Jody Craig was named 2016 Coast Conference South - Coach of the Year.

For the second year in a row Foothill boasts the Top Defense in the State holding their opponents to just 47.3 points per game and 29.7% shooting over 29 games played.

Angie Reid Named First Team All State

Sophomore Post Player Angie Reid was recognized as one of the Top 6 players on Nor Cal and Top 12 in the State by being voted First Team All State. This is Angie's second All State Award. She was named Second Team All State in her freshman campaign.

Foothill In the State Regional Playoffs for the 19th time/ 20 Years

#7 Foothill (23-5) will open up at home against Delta College on Friday, Feb. 26. Tip off 7 p.m

2014-2015 Recap

Foothill Undefeated 2015 League Champions - Coast Conference South

2015 Women's Basketball TeamFoothill wrapped up a perfect undefeated league season (10-0) with a win over Mission College on Friday, Feb 20. The Owls beat Mission by a final score of 81-67. Foothill finished with an overall 20-7 season record.

Freshman Angie Reid was named Coast Conference South MVP and Second Team All State.

Sophmores Rose Tahaafe and Leslie Tiongco were named First Team All- League. Kristin Williams, Shania Ratliff and Cristina Yamashiro earned Scholar Athlete Honors.

Foothill Finishes with the #1 Defense in the State

Throughout 26 games, Foothill held opponents to just 41.1 points per game and 27.6% shooting, with a defensive finish as first in the state out of 89 teams. Ventura was next, holding the opposing team to 47 ppg.

Craig Picks Up Her 400th Win

Returning this past July 2014 from a one year leave, past Coach Jody Craig quickly rebuilt the Foothill program and picked up her 400th collegiate victory on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 as the Head Coach at Foothill.

Coach Craig hit the 400 career mark with only 151 losses, a 72% winning percentage over her 18 year career. In the last 5 years, Craig has a 163-33 coaching record (83%).  Coach Jody Craig was also named 2015 Coast Conference South - Coach of the Year.
